RIGA (Latvia) - The stage is set for the Quarter-Finals at the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 and we already know we will get a new winner, as the reigning champions Spain ended their run already in the Group Phase.

Of the eight qualified teams, Greece are the most experienced one, gearing up for their 15th EuroBasket Quarter-Finals appearance. Coach Vassilis Spanoulis said it's time to break the curse of the Quarter-Finals, as they were eliminated in this phase in their previous three visits.

With four straight Quarter-Finals, Giannis Antetokounmpo and his teammates have the longest active streak of top eight finishes.

Meanwhile, Lithuania lead the medal count among the eight teams, having won the event three times (1937, 1939, 2003) and stepped on the podium on four other occasions. They've re-started their Quarter-Final count, as they failed to reach this stage of the competition in 2022, only the third time since regaining independence.

Other than Greece and Lithuania, Germany and Slovenia had also previously won the EuroBasket.

Finland and Georgia are the only two teams with no medals to their name. They are just inches away from history now, as this is one of the matchups in the Quarter-Finals.

    Round of 16 upsets

What's the biggest surprise of the Round of 16?

Poland are back in this phase for the second time in a row. It is only their fourth Quarter-Final to date, but they have a total of 18 finishes among the elite eight - most of them happening in the early days of EuroBasket, through different formats without the Quarter-Finals phase.
