FIBA Secretary General Andreas Zagklis commented: "With less than 12 months to go and tickets going on sale for the Final Phase, the countdown to the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 is becoming ever more exciting.
"We've seen how FIBA's women’s national team events play a key role in growing the game - both on and off the court - by inspiring fans, creating lasting impact, and raising the profile of women's basketball globally. Now, all eyes are on Berlin 2026 to continue this exciting path of growth.
"Fans can look forward to incredible teams and exciting on-court action at this flagship FIBA event - a passion clearly reflected in the crowds that supported Germany as co-hosts of the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2025."
President of the German Basketball Federation, Ingo Weiss, added: "It is a great honor that the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 will be held in Berlin. With the start of ticket sales, fans in Germany and around the world can begin to look forward to a tournament that will not only be of the highest sporting standard but will also send a strong signal for female empowerment and equality. We look forward to welcoming the world's best players to our capital city and celebrating a basketball festival together that will have an impact far beyond the sport itself."
Further tickets will be made available in November, including Day Tickets for the Final Phase and Premium Tickets, Team Germany Group Phase packages, along with exclusive limited courtside offers.
