Spain came out on top in their first stop of the season, coming away with a 21 - 11 win over Czechia in the final to win the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series Marseille 2025 on May 24.

MARSEILLE (France) - Spain came out on top in their first stop of the season, coming away with a 21 - 11 win over Czechia in the final to win the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series Marseille 2025 on May 24.

Despite a rusty start to their run in Marseille, a 14 - 11 loss to French side Orleans, they fought back in a thrilling 17 - 16 victory over Australia to secure their spot in the knockout stages.

The Paris Olympic silver medalists meant business on day 2 as they handled a physical team USA 20 - 12 before defeating Ulaanbaatar Amazons (MGL) 21 - 12 to book a final matchup against Czechia.

Though Czechia had been incredibly effective on their run to the final offensively, they had no answer for Spain who fired early and never looked back.

Vega Gimeno and Gracia Alonso put up 8 points each in a blazing hot final, finishing the game 21 - 11 with time to spare as they started off their 2025 campaign with a bang.

Gimeno led all sides in scoring with 40 points and a tournament-high player value of 39.9. Her offensive masterclass earned her MVP plaudits.
