JAKARTA (Indonesia) - Powerhouse Spain will be out to make it three titles from as many Stops as this intriguing FIBA 3x3 Women's Series 2025 travels to Jakarta on July 24-25.
Let's preview all the action of the ninth stop on this season's Women's Series.
The Favorites
New season, same dominant Spain. The Paris Olympic silver medalist have been irresistible this season, lifting titles in Orleans and Marseille. They will be looking to add another and enter Jakarta as deservingly the top seed.
Juana Camilion has been on fire so far this season, but she'll need to be at her best because this is a loaded field and Spain might need to face No.2 seed Australia at some point. In a rarity, the Gangaruus don't have to travel too far from home and they will also enter with swagger after taking out the title in Ulaanbaatar.
No.3 Ulaanbaatar Amazons (MGL) are back and some of their players are still glowing in the aftermath of Mongolia's historic World Cup run on home soil.
We just have to mention powerhouse USA, who will have to do it the hard way from the QD. But you can't discount them because superstar Linnae Harper can do magical things with the Wilson.
The Field
This is a deep draw with a number of teams capable of upstaging the favorites and going all the way. Bonn Baskets (GER) will frighten opponents because they have Olympic gold medalist Elisa Mevius, while Kaye Pingol is equally skilful as she leads Philippines. Orleans (FRA) were runner-up on their half-court recently and their hopes of going one better might rest on superstar Marie Mane being lights out.
Christchurch (NZL) and Singapore (SGN) will be highly competitive, while Japan, Thailand and Mongolia ensure this is one of the most loaded QDs we have ever seen.
