BUCHAREST (Romania) - There is all to play for as the FIBA 3x3 World Tour regular season ends with a bang in Bucharest on November 8-9.
And we just have to start with the most recent champs after Skyliners (GER) shocked the world to claim the title at WT Abu Dhabi. It continued a recent trend of stunning results in the backend of this most unpredictable season.
En route to their triumph, Skyliners beat top-ranked Ub (SRB) in a classic semi-final and the teams face each other again in a Pool A blockbuster. Ub have now fallen at the semis in three straight semis and they'll be extra determined to get back to their winning ways with the Manama Final just around the corner.
In what is an absolutely loaded group, the third team is Riffa (BRN) who had just recently reached the semis of three straight WT events.
N.2 seed Miami (USA) will be smarting after consecutive runner-up finishes and they'll be keen to not let the recent disappointment weigh them down. The Americans battle old foe Vienna (AUT), champs at the WT Debrecen when they beat Skyliners in the final.
The third team in the group are hometown heroes Bucharest Stiinta (ROU).
Third seed Amsterdam Rabobank (NED) have gone almost the entire season without a dub. Time is running out and the Dutch Masters will be feeling desperate. They face in Pool C another power team without a title - Chongming (CHN), who have fallen in the quarters in their last two WT stops.
The third team in the group will emerge from QD A, featuring a loaded draw of Toulouse (FRA), Barcelona (ESP) and Lausanne (SUI).
Pool D features two WT 2025 champs - powers Liman (SRB) and Raudondvaris Hoptrans (LTU), while the third team will come from QD B consisting of Carolina (PUR), Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy (MGL) and Podebrady (CZE).
