    MUNICH (Germany) - The field for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 European Qualifiers Second Round is now complete, with 24 national teams remaining in the race for a place in the flagship competition.

    Estonia, Latvia, Slovenia and Sweden became the last teams to secure their tickets to the next phase on Monday as the First Round concluded with the end of the July window.

    Defending world champions Germany headline the list of teams advancing, with 21 teams returning to the Second Round after also reaching this stage in the previous qualifying cycle. Croatia and Poland mark their return after missing out in 2023, while Portugal reached the Second Round for the first time in history.

    The list of qualified teams (in alphabetical order) is as follows: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Türkiye and Ukraine.

    The eight teams eliminated from the First Round of the European Qualifiers will enter the FIBA EuroBasket 2029 Pre-Qualifiers Second Round.

    The Qualifiers will now continue in four groups of six, with all results from the First Round carrying over into the next phase.

    Teams from Groups A and B will form Group I, Groups C and D will merge into Group J, Groups E and F will make up Group K, while teams from Groups G and H will form Group L.

    Group I: Spain, Montenegro, Ukraine, Georgia, Greece, Portugal

    Group J: Türkiye, Italy, Serbia, Lithuania, Iceland, Bosnia and Herzegovina

    Group K: Poland, Croatia, Germany, Israel, Netherlands, Latvia

    Group L: Finland, France, Hungary, Estonia, Sweden, Slovenia

    The Second Round will be played across three windows in August 2026, November 2026 and February 2027, with the top three teams from each of the four groups qualifying for the World Cup for a total of 12 national teams from Europe.

    The FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 will take place from August 27 - September 12, 2027 in Qatar.
