Saniyah Hall and Sienna Betts can celebrate this latest record for USA

USA continue to hit new heights and rack up new milestones after stepping into the Semi-Finals in Brno. But France put up a hell of a fight.

BRNO (Czechia) - USA have set yet another FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup record after they extended their winning streak to an all-time high of 26 games.

Who will be crowned U19 Women's World Cup champions?

Having tied their own record with their success against China in the Round of 16, they manage to keep France at bay 70-65 in the Quarter-Finals to register the new high tide mark.

It has taken four editions to accumulate the record streak, starting in 2019 when they took the title in Bangkok, Thailand behind a TISSOT MVP performance from Paige Bueckers.

They then went unbeaten again in Debrecen, Hungary in 2021 when Caitlin Clark took TISSOT MVP honors, before extending their run and lifting the silverware in Madrid, Spain two years ago after only just squeezing out the hostr nation.

The last time the USA suffered a loss in the competition was in 2017, when they famously fell to Russia in a final for the ages — a game in which Maria Vadeeva and Raisa Musina combined for 49 points.

Today, against France, Sienna Betts (14 points and 11 rebounds) and Saniyah Hall (26 points) proved too much to handle. But the French defense managed to slow down this formidable offensive power.

They still have two games left to play in Brno. Can they extend their winning streak to 28 and lift another U19 Women's World Cup?
