    MIES (Switzerland) - After a day off on Saturday, the teams will be back in action on Sunday, spreading the duties in Groups A, B and D.

    A total of six games will take place with plenty to follow as the curtain falls on the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 European Qualifiers First Round in those groups.

    In Group A, Spain are chasing a perfect 6-0 record, while Ukraine could potentially rise to 4-2.

    In Group B, Greece, Montenegro, Portugal and Romania could all end up at 3-3, so hold your breath for a thrilling finale there.

    In Group D, we'll have one of the classics of European basketball, with Italy taking on Lithuania, while Iceland and Great Britain go head-to-head for the last Second Round ticket.

    • Kostas Papanikolaou (Greece) had 10 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists against Romania on Thursday, with his 10 rebounds and 5 assists being both his best tallies in his 12 World Cup Qualifiers appearances; he became the first Greek player with a 10/10/5 in the competition.

    • Italy have won their last four games in the World Cup Qualifiers but have never won five in a row in the competition.

    • Lithuania grabbed only five offensive rebounds against Great Britain on Thursday, their lowest total in a World Cup Qualifiers game, after grabbing 10+ offensive rebounds in each of their previous 15 games.

    • Jonas Valanciunas had 20 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists on Thursday against Great Britain, the first Lithuanian player with a 20/10/5 in the World Cup Qualifiers.

    • Montenegro have lost three of their last four home games in the World Cup Qualifiers after winning six of the previous eight; they are yet to score more than 65 points when playing at home in the current campaign while they managed to do it in each of their three away games.
