ZARAGOZA (Spain) - Mariona Ortiz added another line to her stellar resume at Casademont Zaragoza after handing out a superb 15 assists on the opening night of the new EuroLeague Women Regular Season.
To make the achievement even sweeter, it came as she inspired her club to an epic 76-75 overtime triumph against rivals Basket Landes.
Showing her amazing composure and leadership, Ortiz becomes only the fourth player in the modern era to have dished out as many dimes in a single game.
Her tally was the joint-third highest total of the modern era - tied with Morgan Green, who handed out the same number of assists for ACS Sepsi-SIC in 2023.
Both came just one short of Courtney Vandersloot with 16, while Ilona Korstin is in a class of her own and way out in front on 21.
