DOHA (Qatar) - Saudi Arabia had a lot going right for them in their morale-boosting 86-80 win over Qatar.
Their 'Big Three' of Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman, Mathna Almarwani and Mohammed Alsuwailem all stepped up with pivotal performances. But center Alsuwailem turned heads in the process in particular.

His 20 points came off a perfect 7-of-7 from the field, bettering the previous high for this World Cup 2027 Asian Qualifiers held by Zhou Qi.
The Chinese star center scored 17 points on 6-6 shooting from the field on December 1, 2025.
Not surprisingly, all of Alsuwailem's attempts came in the paint. Besides his flawless scoring, the 28-year-old pulled down 13 rebounds and even had 4 assists, besides two blocks.
His only miss came at the free-throw line where he went 6-of-7.
This "perfect" performance was close to breaking the all-time record in the Asian Qualifiers. Lebanon's Ater Majok went 8-8 to score 17 points against India on February 16, 2018. A few years later, Majok also went 7-7 against Indonesia for 18 points on November 29, 2021.
Meanwhile, Alsuwailem's backcourt colleague Abdur-Rahkman achieved a personal milestone of his own. Rahkman's 28 points are his best single-game scoring performance in the World Cup Qualifiers, nearing his Asia Cup high of 33.
