The event will take place from July 12–18 at the Alexis Arguello Sports Complex in the capital city of Managua.

MIAMI (United States) – FIBA’s Regional Office in the Americas has announced that the FIBA Women’s AmeriCup 2027 Centrobasket Qualifier will be held at the Polideportivo Alexis Argüello in Managua, Nicaragua, from July 12 to 18. The FIBA Women’s AmeriCup 2027 Centrobasket Qualifier, previously known as the FIBA Women's Centrobasket Championship, will feature eight national teams from the Central American and Caribbean Basketball Confederation (CONCENCABA): Bahamas, Guyana, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, and hosts Nicaragua.

The eight teams will be divided into two groups of four. The group distribution will be determined after the official draw for the event, which will take place on May 4th in Miami, Florida, at 4:00 pm local time. At the end of the competition, the top three teams will secure qualification for the FIBA Women’s AmeriCup 2027 and will join El Salvador, which has already qualified automatically as host of the continental tournament.

FIBA’s Board has decided that, starting this year, competitions that award spots to continental tournaments will also be named “Qualifiers,” aligning with the terminology used in events that grant berths to the FIBA Basketball World Cups and the Olympic Games.
