    El Salvador to host the FIBA Women’s AmeriCup 2027

    The best 10 women’s national teams from the Americas will compete in July 2027 at the Gimnasio Nacional Adolfo Pineda in San Salvador.

    MIAMI (United States) – The FIBA Americas Board approved El Salvador as the official host of the FIBA Women’s AmeriCup 2027 at the mid-term assembly in Mexico back in October 2025. The tournament will be played at the Gimnasio Nacional Adolfo Pineda in San Salvador from July 3 to 11, 2027, and will feature the 10 best women’s national teams from across the Americas. This will be the 19th edition of the region’s premier women’s tournament, and the first time it is hosted by El Salvador. "We are proud to host the top continental event for senior women’s national teams, Yamil Bukele, President of the Salvadoran Basketball Federation, stated. “We will work tirelessly from this moment on to ensure that the FIBA Women’s AmeriCup 2027 becomes an unforgettable experience for every team and visitor, and we are certain they will want to return to our land.     The 10 participating national teams will be determined following the 2026 South American and Centrobasket Women’s Championships. The top four teams from each will qualify, forming a group of eight. The United States and Canada will complete the field of 10.
