MIES (Switzerland) - FIBA's Central Board has confirmed that Bahrain is to host the FIBA Mid-Term Congress in 2025.

MIES (Switzerland) - FIBA's Central Board has confirmed that Bahrain is to host the FIBA Mid-Term Congress in 2025, thanks to a partnership with the Bahrain Olympic Committee and the Bahrain Basketball Association.

It will mark the third time a Mid-Term Congress has been held, with the first in 2017 in Hong Kong and the second delivered online in 2021. The entire basketball community will be reunited in Bahrain and will have the opportunity to meet with the hosting country’s basketball and sports representatives.

The Mid-Term Congress, to be held in late spring of 2025, will be a two-day event that will include breakout sessions for guests and attendees. The 212 National Federations that make up the Congress will also hear reports on FIBA's activities that have occurred since the FIBA Congress 2023, which is to be held in the Philippines to coincide with next year's FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023.

Additionally, the FIBA Hall of Fame traditional ceremony for the Class of 2025 will be organized in conjunction with the FIBA Mid-Term Congress and will pay tribute to a group of players and coaches who have played key roles in contributing to the global development of basketball.
