BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The FIBA Regional Office-Asia on Thursday, February 19, has announced a new start date for the West Asia League Final Phase of the 2025-26 FIBA West Asia Super League (WASL) competitions.

Initially scheduled to tip off on March 11, the said stage will now commence on March 25, beginning with the best-of-3 Semi-Finals featuring some of the pan-regional tournament's perennial contenders.

    The schedule is as follows:

Al Riyadi and Sagesse SC of Lebanon, Kazakhstan's own BC Astana, and Shardari Gorgan of Iran have already qualified, with the final seedings to be determined by the end of the Group Phase on March 5.

Under the new competition format, the no. 1 team at the end of the preliminary round will face the fourth-ranked team in the Semi-Finals, with the other bracket to feature the teams finishing at second and third.

The Final, which is also a best-of-3, will start on April 16, to be preceded by the one-game Third-Place Game between the losing sides from the Semi-Finals scheduled on April 15.

Teams finishing at fourth place in the WASL-Gulf League and in the WASL-West Asia League, meanwhile, will square off in a knockout game on April 22 for a ticket to the culminating Final 8 2026.
