BEIRUT (Lebanon)- The FIBA Regional Office-Asia on Thursday, Aug 21, 2026 announced that the FIBA West Asia Super League Final 8 2026 will be played from Sept 25-Oct 1, 2026 in Lebanon.
Al Riyadi (LBN), BC Astana (KAZ), Shahrdari Gorgan (IRI) and Sagesse BC (LBN) in the FIBA WASL West Asia League and Kuwait SC (KUW), Al Ula (KSA), Ittihad Club (KSA) and Al Arabi SC (QAT) in the FIBA WASL Gulf League were all set to tip off the Final Phase games, when the entire league had to be deferred due to the war situation in the region.
All the eight teams that already qualified for the Final Phase in the FIBA WASL Sub-Zone Leagues will be eligible to participate in the much-awaited regional premier club competition along Indian Railways, the champions from India, making it potentially nine teams for the FIBA WASL Final 8 2026.
The groupings, competition system and schedule for the FIBA WASL Final 8 2026 is expected soon.
