MANAGUA (Nicaragua) – Imani McGee-Stafford, Puerto Rico's center, was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the FIBA Women's AmeriCup 2027 Centrobasket Qualifiers after playing a pivotal role in leading her national team to the championship. McGee-Stafford anchored Puerto Rico on both ends of the floor throughout the tournament. She finished with averages of 11.6 points, 11.2 rebounds (second-best in the competition) and 2.0 blocks, leading the tournament in the latter category.
All-Star Five
The MVP headlined the All-Star Five, which recognized the tournament's top performers. The other selections were: Mariana Valenzuela - Mexico Valenzuela averaged 13.4 points, 8.6 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.4 blocks, serving as one of the key players for the runner-up while providing balance at both ends of the court throughout the competition. Cesarina Capellán - Dominican Republic The forward emerged as one of the tournament's top scorers, averaging 17.0 points per game, along with 4.8 rebounds and 2.2 steals, the fourth-best mark in the competition. Her offensive production was instrumental in helping her team reach the third-place game. Anisha George - Virgin Islands George made a major impact around the basket, averaging 14.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.7 blocks, ranking second in the tournament in blocks. Kiyomi McMiller - Nicaragua McMiller rounded out the elite lineup after delivering an outstanding individual performance. She led the tournament in scoring with 29.4 points per game, while also averaging 9.4 rebounds (fourth in the tournament), 4.4 assists, 1.4 steals and a 27.2 efficiency rating, the second-highest mark of the competition.
