Neftchi SOCAR and Canada lead a loaded field in Marseille

MARSEILLE (France) - The FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series 2026 heads to the south of France for another exciting stop as a talented international field descends on Marseille on July 5-6.

Top seed Neftchi SOCAR (AZE) arrive in Marseille brimming with confidence after enjoying an impressive campaign so far this season. Of course, they'd rather forget about their uncharacteristically underwhelming performance in Poitiers. Despite that, the Azerbaijani side will look to rebound at the the Parc Chanot and headline a field featuring several of the tour's most dangerous teams.

Second seed Canada (CAN) return with their trademark blend of physicality and depth. After finishing second in Poitiers, Canada will once again be among the favorites to contend for the title in Marseille. Meanwhile, third-seeded Madrid (ESP) continues to establish themselves as one of the premier teams on the circuit. After winning the WS Vienna stop earlier this season, Madrid are eager to make another deep run.

Host nation France (FRA) enter as the fourth seed and will have plenty of home support behind them. They are joined by fifth seed Beijing (CHN), a squad capable of challenging any opponent on their day. Meanwhile, sixth-seeded France U25 (FRA) bring youthful energy and plenty of firepower.

Italy (ITA) and Slovakia (SVK) round out the top eight seeds and will aim to upset the higher-ranked teams and make a statement in Marseille.

The Qualifying Draw promises plenty of intrigue. Qualifying Draw A features Benin (BEN), Portugal (POR), and Uganda (UGA), with only one ticket to the Main Draw on the line. In Qualifying Draw B, Slovakia U23 (SVK), Fuengirola (ESP), and Ottawa (CAN) will battle for the remaining berth.

The Main Draw is packed with enticing matchups. Neftchi SOCAR headline Pool A alongside Slovakia and Hungary (HUN), while Canada take on Italy and Rome (ITA) in Pool B.

Pool C features Madrid and France U25, with the winner of Qualifying Draw A joining the group, while Pool D sees France and Beijing await the survivor of Qualifying Draw B.

With established powers, ambitious challengers and several dangerous dark horses in the mix, all the ingredients are in place for another thrilling chapter of the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series in Marseille.
