CHEKHOV (2015 FIBA U19 Women's World Championship) - Australia registered a strong final quarter to see off Brazil62-48, on Day 2 of Group D at the 2015 FIBA U19 Women's World Championship.

Turning point: With just over seven minutes remaining, Brazil were only 46-44 behind. But Australia scored 10 of the next 11 points in the game to jump into the driver's seat.

Stats Don’t Lie: Australia collected 23 offensive rebounds and Brazil gave up an eye-popping 32 turnovers.

Game Heroes: Lauren Scherf and Alanna Smith shared 24 points, with the former adding seven boards and the latter claiming six rebounds, four steals and three blocks before fouling out.

The Bottom Line: While the energy levels were high, both teams suffered from a lack of care handling the ball and that dynamic will have to change down the tournament stretch this week. Brazil came close to winning back-to-back games but lost their way in the last quarter offensively. Australia laboured for long spells but came up trumps down the stretch and wore Brazil down well on the glass.
