    ISTANBUL (Türkiye) - The FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2026 returned on Tuesday after a rest day to give fans a chance to catch their breaths. And the action on the court once again was dominated by some great individual showings.

    Omer Kutluay just cannot be stopped in his hometown of Istanbul as the Türkiye star guard put on another electric performance in the hosts' 98-77 win over Puerto Rico. Kutluay scored 32 points to go with 7 rebounds, 12 assists and 1 steal for an efficiency of 39.

    Kutluay's Turkish partner-in-crime Darius Karutasu was just as strong once again as he talled 23 points to go with 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 5 steals in picking up an efficiency of 30.

    Benas Birzins was a force for Lithuania against China as the big man collected 14 points, 16 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal in the 78-68 win for an efficiency of 29.

    USA once again dominated as they rolled to an undefeated 3-0 mark with a 131-80 victory over Italy. Xavier Young had by far his best game of the tournament as he totalled 16 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 1 block in registering a 28 efficiency.

    Japan failed to beat France in a 93-57 defeat but Chusonjakku Shiratani had a historic performance in the loss. The forward drained 7 three-pointers - one off the record - while scoring 33 points to go with 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 block.
