ISTANBUL (Türkiye) - The pairings and schedule for the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2026 Quarter-Finals are now confirmed following the successful conclusion of the Quarter-Finals in Istanbul, Türkiye.
Quarter-Finals
The Quarter-Finals will all take place on Friday July 3 with games at the Basketball Development Center.
CAN v AUS
Canada only lost its opening game to Lithuania while Australia have remained undefeated in reaching the top eight. Both countries have been waiting some time for some hardware. Canada's only podium finish was third in 2010 while Australia took second place in 2012 and 2014.
Canada have won five of the six matchups - including the 2018 Quarter-Finals - while Australia's sole win came in the group phase in 2024.
USA v PUR
USA are just three wins from their goal - winning their eighth consecutive FIBA U17 World Cup crown in undefeated fashion.
Puerto Rico bounced back from their loss to Türkiye and beat Côte d'Ivoire to set up a date with USA - the teams having faced off at the FIBA U16 AmeriCup 2025 Semi-Finals.
LTU v SRB
These two teams faced off three times last summer - Lithuania twice winning at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Skopje before Serbia won the important matchup: the Final of the FIBA U16 EuroBasket 2025.
Both European sides are hungry to return to the podium - Lithuania took third place in 2016 and Serbia were third in 2014. Both of those were the countries' only top-three finishes.
FRA v TUR
France lost their opening game to USA but are right where they want to be - two wins from the Final and another possible date against USA - after rolling past Japan in the Round of 16. France will not have an easy task against Türkiye as the hosts have benefited from the strong crowd at the Basketball Development Center.
The hosts did however need all they could muster to get past Venezuela to get to the top eight.
