ULAANBAATAR (Mongolia) - Hot on the heels of an unbelievable season resumption in Vienna and ahead of the World Cup, the FIBA 3x3 World Tour 2025 rolls on into fan favorite Ulaanbaatar on June 20-21.
The rowdy crowd's support will be firmly behind hometown heroes Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy (MGL), whose only appearance this season was a quarter-final effort in Chengdu. The Mongolians face a monster match-up against red-hot Baskets Bonn (GER), fresh off their breakout in Vienna where they stormed into a first-ever WT final.
The Germans boast the most exciting prospect in the game - unicorn Fabian Giessmann who will need to show off all his tricks against Ulaanbaatar's legendary defense.
The third team in Pool D is Gargzdai (LTU), who can't be written off because they boast lethal Lithuanian Darius Tarvydas.
Top seed Liman fell short in Amsterdam (NED), but are ready to break a WT drought extending almost two years as they've loaded up with Marko Stevanovic patrolling the paint.
The Serbs will first have to get through Marijampole MANTINGA (LTU) and Bordeaux (FRA) in Pool A.
No.2 seed Riffa will be desperate to end their struggles after being unable to emerge from Day One at their last two WT events. They will face a stern early test in Pool B against rising Hangzhou (CHN), who have already made two semis and unleashed high-flyer Aleksandar Lazic.
Doha (QAT) will be aiming to unsettle those fancied teams and go on a giant-killing run.
Fourth seed Chongming (CHN) are also making a leap having made the semis twice so far this season with scoring machine Cameron Forte playing bully ball.
They will play a Pool D blockbuster against Carolina (PUR), who will heat up if sniper Antonio Ralat gets going from beyond the arc.
To shock the world, Zavkhan (MGL) will need the local fans to make plenty of noise.
