ULAANBAATAR (Mongolia) - Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy (MGL) revelled in front of the home crowd, coming away unbeaten in pool play of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Ulaanbaatar 2025 on June 20.
TEAMS
ULAANBAATAR MMC ENERGY (Mongolia)
With the Mongolian crowd firmly on their side, team Ulaanbaatar delivered in a big way in pool action. They started out with a 21 - 16 victory against Lithuanian side Gargzdai. The star of the show was Delgernyam Davaasambuu who went off for a 12-point outburst, closing out the game in style.
They followed it up with a blockbuster clash between German side Baskets Bonn who, just a few days ago, had played deep into the Vienna stop, losing narrowly in the final.
It was a back-and-forth battle in pool play between the two on-form sides, coming down to the closing moments. Baskets Bonn took a late lead before Davaasambuu answered with a clutch two to tie things up. In OT, Dulguun Enkhbat scored the all-important bucket to seal victory and a perfect record for the Mongolian side.
Liman, Chongming and Riffa were the three other teams that went unbeaten on the day to secure their spot for Day 2 action.
PLAYERS
CAMERON FORTE (Chongming)
Chongming went perfect in pool play, and once again, it was the ever-dominant Cameron Forte at the front of it. They went up against Zavkhan in their opener, who had no answer for the paint presence of Forte. He put up a team-high 10 points to lead them to a 22 - 18 victory.
They faced off against the gritty Carolina side next, a close game that went to OT. ZhiChao Xiang nailed the game winner, but it was Forte once again whose 10 points and 9 rebounds paved the way for the result.
Chongming will look to push for their first masters win of the season, and Forte will be leading that charge.
