RIGA (Latvia) - Germany were crowned FIBA EuroBasket 2025 champions after beating Türkiye in a thrilling Final on Sunday.
It was their first continental triumph since their maiden success in 1993; adding to their FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 glory to become the fourth national team to hold both titles at the same time.
Isaac Bonga was the TCL Player of the Game with 20 points and 5 rebounds in his side's 88-83 victory, as Germany celebrated in front of a sold out crowd of 11,000 at Arena Riga.
Dennis Schroder earned the tournament's TISSOT MVP award to cap an impressive campaign for Germany, including a double-double of 16 points and a Finals record 12 assists against Türkiye.
The point guard was joined in the All-Star Five lineup by teammate Franz Wagner as well as Türkiye's Alperen Sengun, Greece's Giannis Antetokounmpo and Luka Doncic of Slovenia.
Both teams had been unbeaten with eight consecutive victories, but Türkiye’s first loss of the tournament meant they missed out on a historic first title, having also lost their previous Final appearance in 2001.
In the earlier Third Place Game, Greece secured the final step onto the podium with a dramatic 92-89 success over Finland.
Giannis Antetokounmpo led the way with 30 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists to help land a first medal for Greece at the event since 2009.
