ISTANBUL (Türkiye) - Gabija Galvanauskaite claimed the honor of being crowned FIBA U16 Women's EuroBasket 2025, Division B MVP after helping Lithuania take home the trophy.
The 2025 champions' small forward headlines the All-Star Five of the event, which also includes Deyana Stanislavova from runners-up Bulgaria, Türkiye's Ayse Demirer, Berglind Hlynsdottir of Iceland and Scya Srdanovic of Switzerland.
Gabija Galvanauskaite - Lithuania
Lithuania's rebounding machine led her team to the title and promotion to Division A and fully deserved MVP honors. Galvanauskaite comfortably averaged a double-double of 19 points and 15.6 boards for the tournament and capped it all off by emerging as the hero in the Final with a monster double-double of 21 points and 21 rebounds for Lithuania to seal the deal.
Deyana Stanislavova - Bulgaria
Bulgaria fell one step short of the highest podium spot but achieved promotion, thanks in great part to the stellar efforts of Stanislavova. Bulgaria's top performer led the team in almost every stat category, averaging 14.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 4.4 steals per game. One of her best performances was a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds against Germany in the Group Phase.
Ayse Demirer - Türkiye
Demirer was the leading force for Türkiye who returned to Division A after missing out on the previous two events. Even though she did not play in the last two games, she distinguished herself with exceptional domination on the boards, leading all rebounders with 17.4 per game. She also averaged 15.4 points and 1.8 blocks per game and was a force to be reckoned with in the paint. Demirer's best showing came in the Group Phase, when she tallied 31 points and 23 rebounds against Iceland.
Berglind Hlynsdottir - Iceland
Hlynsdottir finished as the tournament's leading scorer on 22 points per game, proving a good guard can be dominant even without relying on their three-point shooting. She also finished in the top 5 in assists with 4.7 dimes per game to solidify her spot in the All-Star lineup, despite the fact Iceland came in 10th place. Her near triple-double of 32 points, 9 assists and 7 rebounds against Sweden was her standout performance.
Scya Srdanovic - Switzerland
Even though Switzerland just missed out on promotion, Srdanovic made her country proud with an all-around showing at the tournament. The point guard did a little bit of everything with 15.1 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game, also picking opponents' pockets a remarkable 6.4 times on average, to lead of course the tournament in steals.
