France put their foot on the gas in a 97-41 success against Croatia off the back of a super shooting effort from Lindiwe David Egassa who shot 9 of 11 from the field en-route to 19 points, as well as grabbing 3 steals.
Michal Abudram was predicted to be a leader for Israel and she didn't disappoint in her first outing, taking her team to a one-sided 68-37 lockdown win against Italy. The forward impressed with a near double-double of 16 points and 9 boards.
Spain were sensational as they swept aside Czechia 109-44 and it was largely due to Amelia Alonso. The forward did the business with an excellent 12 points, 14 rebounds and 3 steals.
Veronika Ferjancic showed why she made the All-Star Five at last year's edition after dropping 18 points and 10 rebounds, as well as 3 big blocks as Slovenia edged out Hungary 58-53.
Finally, Urte Gureviciute showed why she was labelled one of the players to watch coming into the competition with a blistering 28 points for Lithuania. However, it was not enough to avoid a nail-biting 73-68 defeat to Germany.
