ORADEA (Romania) - Four teams finished the Group Phase of the FIBA U16 EuroBasket 2026 undefeated on a final day highlighted by two historic individual performances.
Sebastian-Petru Lapuste of hosts Romania and Latvian star big man Benjamin Berrouet both registered monster stat-lines in joining exclusive clubs.

Romania nearly pulled off another upset but just missed as they lost 94-86 in overtime to Lithuania. Sebastian-Petru Lapuste put together a performance for the ages with 34 points, 10 rebounds and 10 steals for the first triple-double in the competition in 10 years. Lapuste also just missed a quadruple-double with 8 assists while also picking up 2 blocks in the loss.
Benjamin Berrouet continues to just dominate the competition in Oradea as the big man collected 33 points, 22 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals in Latvia's 95-80 win over Czechia. By doing so, Berrouet became just the third player in the competition's history to join the 30-point, 20-rebound club.
Roman Kolka recorded his best game of the tournament in Slovenia's 80-67 victory over Belgium. The forward talent had a great all-around performance with 23 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 5 blocks.
Türkiye bounced back from their loss to Latvia with a strong 77-69 win over Italy with Kuzey Baysal leading the way. The point guard tallied 21 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Baysal had scored 21 points in first two games combined.
While Sebastian-Petru Lapuste got most of the attention for his triple-double, it was Lithuania and Jonas Birzinis who got the win. The center scored 21 points to go with 5 rebounds and 2 assists in the 94-86 overtime victory over hosts Romania.
