    Hosts Portugal will look to put on a show in Matosinhos

    France set sights on a third straight title in Portugal as the action begins on Saturday.

    MATOSINHOS (Portugal) – The final rosters for the FIBA U20 Women’s EuroBasket 2025 have officially been finalized ahead of Saturday’s opening games, marking the next stage in this summer’s Youth EuroBasket calendar. A total of 16 national sides will take to the court in Matosinhos, Portugal, with reigning champions France returning in pursuit of a third consecutive title following their triumphs in 2023 and 2024.     Group A: Lithuania, Israel, Spain, Belgium Group B: Slovenia, Portugal, France, Germany Group C: Sweden, Türkiye, Latvia, Iceland Group D: Czechia, Poland, Italy, Netherlands

    Each group contains four teams, with three days of round-robin play in the Group Phase. After a rest day, the competition advances to the Round of 16 and Quarter-Finals stage. A second rest day will precede the Semi-Finals, with the tournament wrapping up on Sunday, August 10 when the champions will be crowned. Elsewhere, the FIBA U20 Women's EuroBasket, Division B tournament also tips off in Miskolc, Hungary on Saturday. The event runs in parallel from August 2–10, with 14 teams aiming for promotion to Division A. All games at the Youth EuroBaskets this summer are streamed, live and for free, on FIBA's official YouTube channel.
