BERLIN (Germany) - The FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 Trophy Tour will soon get underway, with the silverware set to visit Cologne, Bonn, Frankfurt, Munich and of course, Berlin. The Trophy Tour will act as an important opportunity to grow even more interest in the upcoming showpiece tournament in the host country, and also to promote the continued growth of women's basketball.
It will be undertaken with the help of HoopBus, which will transport the trophy and provide the focal point for the many community activities and activations that will be an integral part of the tour.
This is not the first time a FIBA World Cup trophy has made its way onto the Hoopbus. During the global FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Trophy Tour, the historic Naismith Trophy made a widely celebrated stop in Las Vegas, engaging fans during the NBA Summer League.
As part of the activations around this year's Trophy Tour, Bearlina, the Women's World Cup official mascot, will be making some surprise appearances, with visitors also having the chance to win official merchandise.
Basketball fans are also being invited to bring their passion for basketball to the HoopBus and show off their skills, while there might also be a chance to play against some of the influencers and celebrities who will be involved. The tour will tip off on August 27 in Cologne, be in Bonn on August 28, move to Frankfurt on August 29, and then to Munich on August 30 and 31. It will end in Berlin, where the trophy will be available from September 1, with many different events planned for both before and after the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026, which gets underway on September 4.

The current FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup trophy was unveiled in 2021, ahead of the last edition in Sydney, Australia, the following year, with the design celebrating both the rich history of the competition and the heroes who have graced the famous tournament.
