JAKARTA (9th SEABA Championship/2011 FIBA Asia Championship) - Hosts Indonesia will take on Singapore and hot favourites Philippines will match wits with Malaysia when the 9th SEABA Championship gets underway on Thursday in the Indonesia capital.

The SEABA Championship is the qualifying event for the FIBA Asia Championship taking place in Wuhan, China from 15 to 25 September with the top three teams earning their ticket to Wuhan.

Philippines finished fourth in the 3rd FIBA Asia Stankovic Cup in Beirut last year to earn an additional berth for SEABA in the FIBA Asia Championship along with the two allocated for each FIBA Asia sub zone.

The four teams – Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore – will play each other once before the top two teams qualify to play the final on Sunday.
