MUNICH (Germany) - The EuroLeague Women Qualifiers are about to get rolling and it provides the perfect opportunity to get an early view of some top level performers as they try to propel their respective clubs to the main stage.
Here are just some of the leading ballers who could be pivotal difference-makers in the battle to progress beyond the Qualifiers.
Teja Oblak - Galatasaray
GUARD
Birth Date: December 20, 1990 (34 years old) Height: 1.72m (5ft 8in) Nationality: SLO
A EuroLeague Women champion with ZVVZ USK Praha earlier this year at the first ever Final Six, Oblak left the Czech giants to join Turkish juggernauts Galatasaray. A role model player and one of the elite guards in the competition during recent years, the Slovenia national team captain brings vast know-how, composure and class.
Mariona Ortiz - Casademont Zaragoza
GUARD
Birth Date: February 28, 1992 (33 years old) Height: 1.82m (6ft 0in) Nationality: ESP
A huge fan favorite, she makes Casademont Zaragoza tick. Ortiz is a veteran star who continues to get better with each passing season and as well as her ability to dish out dimes, it's often her defense in particular which is always on point. It's one of her biggest strengths - as is the outstanding leadership that Zaragoza will once again lean on.
Yvonne Anderson - Crvena Zvezda
GUARD
Birth Date: March 8, 1990 (35 years old) Height: 1.75m (5ft 9in) Nationality: SRB
Continuing the theme of super-talented leaders and experienced players, Anderson is one of the best out there. The Serbian national team centerpeice re-unites with Marina Maljkovic at club level in 2025-26 and will bring her quickness, defensive power and clutch ability - all qualities that have truly lit up the competition in previous years.
Lorela Cubaj - Umana Reyer Venezia
CENTER
Birth Date: January 28, 1999 (26 years old) Height: 1.92m (6ft 4in) Nationality: ITA
The displays of Cubaj at FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2025 were one of the main talking points for an Italian side that won bronze and a first medal in three decades. The center was epic at times and her positive approach under the hoop paid dividends. She steps back onto court for Reyer with more expectations and she can live up to those.
Laura Juskaite - Zabiny Brno
SMALL FORWARD
Birth Date: September 22, 1997 (27 years old) Height: 1.86m (6ft 1in) Nationality: LTU
Coming off the back of an eye-catching FIBA Women's EuroBasket debut with Lithuania, Juskaite will pull on Zabiny Brno colors again, but this time look to turn up the dial. She posted modest numbers in the six games she played, but showed on the international stage she could add much more with her energetic and do-it-all approach.
Paula Ginzo - DVTK HUNTHERM
FORWARD
Birth Date: February 16, 1998 (27 years old) Height: 1.89m (6ft 2in) Nationality: ESP
Ginzo has made the switch to become a rare new face for a DVTK side that ordinarily takes a lot of comfort in continuity. Balling outside of her homeland, the frontcourt ace has a challenge ahead. But, having made Paris 2024 and won silver with Spain at FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2025, her stock is rising and so it might just be a great fit.
Kariata Diaby - Tango Bourges Basket
FORWARD
Birth Date: June 29, 1995 (30 years old) Height: 1.93m (6ft 4in) Nationality: CIV
Physically imposing and a real warrior on the court, Diaby is a handful for her defenders and will once again be a star for Bourges and be circling a season double-double. She was second for her team in scoring and efficiency last season and the leading rebounder. She also sets the tone on defense and stands toe to toe with any opponent.
Dorka Juhasz - Galatasaray
CENTER
Birth Date: December 18, 1999 (24 years old) Height: 1.92m (6ft 4in) Nationality: HUN
The Hungarian center was superb last season for Beretta Famila Schio as she helped them make the first Final Six. Posing a big matchup headache for opponents because of her sheer size, in addition to her quality, Juhasz will give Galatasaray a big threat in the paint. She's also enjoyed a few rare months off to be fresher and ready, so look out!
