CAIRO (Egypt) - By the end of the group stage of the Zone 5 qualifiers for the 2026 FIBA U18 Women's AfroBasket tournament, Egypt were still undefeated, with a perfect record of 3–0.
First, they dispatched Kenya 78-31. This 47-point margin turned out to be Egypt's largest to date.
Then, they outplayed Tanzania 86-50 before defeating Rwanda 80-39.
While Egypt advanced to the final four undefeated, Kenya, Rwanda, and Tanzania each won one of their three games.
On Tuesday, Egypt will play Tanzania in one semifinal, and Rwanda will play Kenya in the other.
The winner of the regional qualifier will secure the zone's sole ticket to the 2026 FIBA U18 Women's AfroBasket, which is scheduled for August 5-16 in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire.
