Cecilia Zandalsini will be ready to step up and help punch Italy's ticket

Who's got the toughest task in punching a ticket to the 2027 showpiece?

MUNICH (Germany) - The final stretch of road to the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2027 has been mapped out and some teams will have to navigate a more challenging road than others in the wake of the Second Round draw.

A total of 24 teams have been pitched into six groups of four teams each, for this November window and the last window in February 2027.

The top two teams in each group will qualify for FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2027, alongside the four co-hosts Belgium, Finland, Lithuania and Sweden.

But is there a so-called ‘Group of Death’? You can cast your vote in the fan poll below to let us know what you think!

    Group I

Türkiye have turned the page again with a new coach in the wake of a challenging time at the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 so could be an unknown. Israel and Poland both went 6-0 in the First Round so could be favorites, while Montenegro have been hard-punching underdogs and made eight consecutive Final Rounds.

    Group J

After finishing second at FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2025 and then following it up with the third podium step at the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026, Spain will be big favorites. Beyond this, there looks to be very little on paper between the trio of Bulgaria, Croatia and Czechia in what could provide some exciting matchups.

    Group K

Latvia and Slovenia will be reunited after meeting in the First Round, the former topping the group with a 5-1 record and the latter posting a 4-2 record. The duo are joined by Italy who made positive waves at the Women's World Cup. Meanwhile, Austria caused a sensation in the First Round with a super and surprise five wins in six.

    Group L

The only Group with four teams from the First Round, Serbia are yet to taste defeat on their journey and might fancy themselves to be favorites. Greece have a lot of quality but had a roller-coaster ride in the initial phase. Slovakia and Netherlands showed they can surprise, having collected four and three wins respectively.

    Group M

After making the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 Final, France are red-hot favorites in Group M. Meanwhile, Luxembourg will likely be underdogs after going 3-3 in the First Round - although so did Ukraine. But, they will fancy themselves to compete with Great Britain for second place if France do take pole position.

    Group N

Fresh from their heroics and history-making exploits at the Women's World Cup on home soil, Germany will likely be a frontrunner. Although Hungary also excelled by making the Quarter-Finals in Berlin too. The big question is whether Portugal and Denmark can become disruptors and tear up the script of who's taking the top two spots.
