DUBAI (United Arab Emirates) – Dubai is ready to make its debut on the FIBA 3x3 World Tour as the global circuit arrives in the global city known for its iconic skyline, ambitious architecture and vibrant sporting culture on November 6-7.
Festival Bay at Dubai Festival City will provide the stage for two days of world-class 3x3 basketball, bringing together 14 teams from across the globe and some of the biggest names in the sport. The event marks the first of three World Tour editions under a hosting agreement with the Dubai Sports Council running through 2028.
The Dubai stop comes after 13 FIBA 3x3 World Tour stops have taken place around the world during the 2026 season, with teams now looking to secure valuable ranking points as the race towards the World Tour Finals in Rio de Janeiro enters its most decisive stages. Individual ranking points earned in Dubai will also count towards the qualification pathway for the LA28 Olympic Games, adding further significance to the competition.
The field is led by top-seeded Ub (SRB), featuring world No. 1 Strahinja Stojacic and fellow top-seven players Nemanja Barac and Marko Brankovic. Paris 2024 Olympic gold medalist Worthy de Jong, ranked No. 2 in the world, will headline second-seeded Amsterdam RABOBANK (NED), while third-seeded Liman (SRB) will also be among the leading contenders.
The international line-up features five Olympians, including de Jong and Dimeo van der Horst of Amsterdam, Stojacic and Brankovic of Ub, and Francis Lacis of DeQing (China). Other notable contenders include Baskets Bonn (Germany), Skyliners (Germany), Fuengirola (Spain) and Cibona Ph.Classic (Croatia), with host team Dubai also set to represent the city on the World Tour stage.
The competition will begin on Friday, November 6, with the Qualifying Draw and Main Draw pool games. Saturday, November 7, will feature the knockout rounds and Finals, as teams battle for the first-ever FIBA 3x3 World Tour Dubai title.
Beyond the court, the event will bring the energy and culture of 3x3 basketball to Festival Bay through a dedicated, custom-built arena and surrounding Fan Zone. Fans and families can enjoy food trucks and stalls, live music, art activations, a players' warm-up area and merchandise. The programme will also feature a slam dunk contest and a two-point shoot-out, adding more entertainment to the two-day showcase.
The event's impact will extend beyond the venue, with planned school visits and community activations involving FIBA 3x3 teams and players. These initiatives will give young people and local communities opportunities to engage with the athletes and experience the sport first-hand.
