El Salvador won the title in 2023

    The official draw ceremony took place on Thursday, June 12.

    MIAMI (United States) – The groups for the COCABA Women's Championship 2025 have been set following the official draw on Thursday, June 12, at the FIBA Americas’ regional office in Miami, Florida. The tournament will be held July 22–27 at the Polideportivo Alexis Argüello in Managua, Nicaragua. As the host nation, Nicaragua was automatically placed in Group A prior to the draw. The remaining teams were seeded based on their FIBA Women’s World Ranking, presented by Nike. Each team was then randomly selected to determine group placement and scheduling position. The groups are as follows:

    Group A

    1. El Salvador 2. Costa Rica 3. Nicaragua 4. Honduras

    Group B

    1. Guatemala 2. Mexico 3. Panama During the Group Phase, each team will face all other teams in its group. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Semi-Finals (1st in Group A vs. 2nd in Group B; 1st in Group B vs. 2nd in Group A). The remaining teams will compete for 5th-7th place. The Semi-Final winners will play for the gold medal, while the losers will compete for bronze. In the classification round, the third-place team in Group B will face the fourth-place team in Group A, with the winner playing the third-place team in Group A for fifth place overall. The tournament will grant three berths to the 2026 Centrobasket Women’s Championship. El Salvador is the reigning champion, having won the 2023 edition as tournament host.
