After narrowly missing out on promotion last summer, Bulgaria will try again, as hosts

    Who will secure promotion to the FIBA U20 Women's EuroBasket next year?

    SAMOKOV (Bulgaria) - The FIBA U20 Women's EuroBasket 2024, Division B, is a crucial stepping stone for all teams striving to qualify for the prestigious showpiece next year.

    The tournament takes place in Samokov, Bulgaria, from July 4-12.

    Who is participating?

    There will be 14 teams all aiming for glory and a spot in next summer's FIBA U20 Women's EuroBasket, and they are as follows:

    Group A: Ireland, Albania, Greece, Azerbaijan Group B: Czechia, Ukraine, Slovakia Group C: Netherlands, Romania, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina Group D: Portugal, Montenegro, Switzerland

    What is the schedule?

    The Group Phase will take place over the first three days of the tournament. From there, the Classification Games will occur based on their group positions, with the Final tipping off on July 12.

    Who were the winners in 2025?

    Hungary deservedly beat Serbia 71-44 on home soil in the Final of last year's FIBA U20 Women’s EuroBasket, Division B.

    Petra Toman led the hosts with 15 points and 7 rebounds, as they seized the advantage with a 17-11 third quarter and a dominant 33-13 fourth period to settle the tie.

    In the Third Place Game, Croatia edged Bulgaria 82-78 to punch their promotion ticket. Olivia Vukosa was unstoppable for the winners, pouring in an absurd double-double with 35 points, 22 rebounds, and 2 blocks.

    Former MVPs

    Despite defeat in the Final, Serbia's Jovana Jevtovic was named the Most Valuable Player of the FIBA U20 Women’s EuroBasket, Division B 2025 tournament on Sunday evening after guiding her team to Division A.

    Jevtovic averaged a double-double for the tournament, with 16.3 points and 10 rebounds per game while shooting 59.5 percent from the field.
