All we learned from FIBA 3x3 World Tour Zadar 2026

New contenders emerged as stars shined under Zadar’s spectacular Adriatic backdrop

ZADAR (Croatia) – The FIBA 3x3 World Tour Zadar 2026 delivered everything fans could have hoped for. That's elite basketball, emotional moments, superstar performances and a spectacular atmosphere on Croatia’s Adriatic coast.

From Miami’s breakthrough triumph to Amsterdam’s strong early statement and James Parrott’s MVP performance, here’s everything we learned from an unforgettable weekend in Zadar.

Miami are officially among the elite

Miami (USA) arrived in Zadar carrying strong expectations, but they left Croatia with something much bigger -- a statement FIBA 3x3 World Tour win.

The American squad showed composure, athleticism and shot-making throughout the tournament before completing a huge championship run on Day 2. Miami consistently looked comfortable in high-pressure moments and proved they could still go toe-to-toe with the very best teams on the circuit.

Most importantly, they demonstrated the depth needed to survive a stacked FIBA 3x3 World Tour field.

This could be the tournament fans look back on as Miami’s true arrival as a championship-level contender this season.

    James Parrott the superstar

Every FIBA 3x3 World Tour stop tends to produce one defining individual performance. In Zadar, that player was James Parrott.

Parrott played with confidence and control throughout the weekend, earning MVP honors after leading Miami to the title. Whether it was timely scoring, defensive intensity or clutch decision-making late in games, he consistently stepped up in key moments.

The MVP performance also highlighted Miami’s balanced style. Rather than relying entirely on isolation scoring, the Americans thrived through pace, movement and shared offensive responsibility.

Still, when the biggest moments arrived, Parrott repeatedly delivered.

    Amsterdam remain very dangerous

Even though Amsterdam (NED) did not ultimately win the FIBA 3x3 World Tour stop, their Day 1 performances reminded everyone why they remain one of the sport’s elite teams.

The Dutch side looked sharp from the opening games in Zadar, combining physicality, spacing and fast decision-making to overwhelm opponents early in the tournament. Their chemistry once again stood out, especially in transition situations and defensive switches.

Whenever Amsterdam establish rhythm offensively, they remain one of the toughest matchups in global 3x3 basketball.

    Serbian standard still matters

Even without finishing in first place, Serbian teams once again showed why they remain the benchmark in professional 3x3 basketball.

Ub (SRB) and Liman (SRB) continued demonstrating the chemistry, execution and tactical discipline that have defined Serbian dominance over the past several years. Their ability to manage tempo, generate quality looks and execute late-game possessions continues separating them from much of the field.

The difference now is that more challengers are beginning to close the gap.

Zadar as a true World Tour destination

The first-ever edition of FIBA 3x3 WT Zadar immediately looked and felt like a natural fit on the Pro Circuit.

The combination of passionate Croatian fans, scenic Adriatic surroundings and deep basketball culture created one of the most visually impressive and energetic stops of the season. Even when the action had to shift indorrs, crowd reactions throughout the weekend added another layer of intensity to already emotional games.

Croatia’s basketball identity translated perfectly to the energy of 3x3 basketball.

If the debut edition were any indication, Zadar could quickly become one of the signature stops on the FIBA 3x3 World Tour.

    Momentum matters

Another major takeaway from Zadar was how important momentum has already become on the FIBA 3x3 Pro Circuit.

Several teams entered Croatia carrying confidence from previous stops and Challenger events, and that rhythm clearly mattered. Teams that already had chemistry, continuity and recent high-level reps generally looked sharper in late-game situations.

As the FIBA 3x3 World Tour calendar continues, maintaining rhythm and health may become just as important as raw talent.

World Tour supremacy is wide open

Three FIBA 3x3 World Tour stops. Three different winners. Perhaps the biggest lesson from Zadar is that the FIBA 3x3 World Tour 2026 still feels completely open.

Miami earned a huge breakthrough title, Amsterdam looked dangerous, Serbian powerhouses remained consistent and several emerging teams showed flashes of major potential.

No single team currently looks untouchable. That unpredictability could make this one of the most entertaining FIBA 3x3 World Tour seasons in recent memory.
