LOME (FIBA 3x3 Africa Cup 2017) - Nigeria's Azuoma Dike earned MVP honors at the FIBA 3x3 Africa Cup after spearheading Nigeria to the title. Cheick Tidiane Traore of Cote d’Ivoire and Madagascar's Elly Randriamampionona gave him company on the team of the tournament in Lomé, Togo on November 3-5, 2017.

Dike - a member of Nigeria’s silver winning squad at the AfroBasket 2017 in Tunisia - made a smooth transition to 3x3. The 27-year-old scored a total of 30 points in 5 games and was marvelous for his country. He told fiba.basketball that it feels good to remain on the winning train after finishing second place at the FIBA AfroBasket 2017.

"I feel great and happy that we have won the very first FIBA 3x3 Africa Cup. We did not underrate any team and at the end of the day victory is for Nigeria. The leadership of the Nigeria Basketball Federation deserves commendation for the efforts in ensuring that Nigeria was present here in Lome."

Traore was the leading scorer for a Cote d'Ivoire team that won silver in Togo while 20-year-old Randriamampionona was a sensation at the Africa Cup, topping all scorers and winning gold at the Shoot-Out Contest.
