3x3 World Cup 2026 1X Men’s Power Rankings: Who enters Warsaw as favorites?

Heavyweights collide as stacked men’s field prepares for unforgettable battles in Warsaw

WARSAW (Poland) – The biggest stars in 3x3 basketball are ready to light up Warsaw as the FIBA 3x3 World Cup 2026 approaches.

With defending champions, Olympic medalists, seasoned veterans and rising challengers all entering the tournament with serious ambitions, the men’s field in Warsaw might be one of the deepest ever assembled.

But one question still looms above the rest: who can stop Serbia?

    Let’s break down the contenders.

    1. Serbia

As long as Strahinja Stojacic and Serbia are around, they remain the benchmark. The six-time world champions are still the gold standard in men’s 3x3 basketball thanks to elite chemistry, tactical execution and clutch experience. After falling short of the title in 2025, expect Serbia to arrive in Warsaw with extra motivation. Also, the opening-day showdown against Spain already feels like a potential classic.

    2. USA

The USA continue to bring perhaps the most explosive athletic profile in the competition. Led by experienced stars like James Parrott and Henry Caruso, the Americans have the ability to overwhelm opponents with pace, isolation scoring and defensive pressure. Pool B is brutal, though, with Latvia and hosts Poland both capable of creating problems early.

    3. Netherlands

The Dutch continue to evolve from contenders into a powerhouse. After their Olympic breakthrough in Paris 2024 and continued FIBA 3x3 World Tour success, the Netherlands enter Warsaw with confidence and elite-level chemistry. Worthy de Jong also remains one of the most entertaining and clutch players in the sport.

    4. Lithuania

Even when they haven't made much noise so far this year, Lithuania’s physicality and toughness always translate well to major tournaments. This team thrives in grind-it-out games and have repeatedly proven capable of beating elite opponents in pressure situations.

    5. France

France might quietly be one of the most dangerous teams in the field. Loaded with athletic wings, defensive versatility and high-level experience, the French have all the tools needed for a deep run in Warsaw.

    6. Germany

Germany continue their rapid rise in international 3x3 basketball. Their length, athleticism and spacing make them difficult to guard, while their confidence continues to grow after strong recent performances on the global stage. The June 3 clash against the Netherlands is one of the must-watch games of pool play.

    7. Latvia

Never underestimate Latvia in a major 3x3 basketball event. The former Olympic gold medalists still feature elite chemistry and championship experience. The jury is still out on whether we'll see the injured Nauris Miezis play, but when games slow down late, Latvia’s composure remains a major weapon.

    8. Spain

The defending world champions somehow still feel slightly underrated. Spain captured the FIBA 3x3 World Cup 2025 title through elite teamwork, smart decision-making and clutch shot-making led by MVP Guim Expósito. If they get rolling offensively, another deep run is very possible.

    9. Belgium

Belgium continue to be one of Europe’s most disciplined and organized teams. Dennis Donkor & Co. may not always grab headlines, but they consistently push elite opponents into difficult games.

    10. Poland

The hosts immediately become dangerous because of the atmosphere. Playing in front of home fans in Warsaw could give Poland an emotional edge throughout the tournament. Veteran Przemysław Zamojski remains one of the faces of Polish 3x3 basketball and should have a memorable performance here.

    11. China

China’s pace and perimeter shooting can create problems for anyone when they find rhythm early. Their Pool C matchups against Germany and the Netherlands will be important measuring-stick games.

    12. Austria

Austria continue to build momentum as a dangerous European sleeper team. They face an immediate challenge in Pool A alongside familiar foes Serbia and Spain.

    13. Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico always bring swagger, energy and fearless shot-making, especially with veteran Luis Cuascut in the mix. If games turn chaotic and high-scoring, they become extremely dangerous.

    14. Brazil

Brazil qualified through the FIBA 3x3 World Cup Qualifier in Singapore and enter Warsaw carrying significant momentum. Leo Branquinho's shotmaking will be crucial, but their athleticism and transition play can also swing games.

    15. Mongolia

Mongolia’s impact on global 3x3 basketball continues to be felt. With their players impressing in the recent FIBA 3x3 World Tour stop in Shanghai, the Mongolians' confidence and speed make them a tricky opponent capable of upsetting higher-ranked teams.

    16. Japan

Japan’s quickness and ball movement often create difficult matchup problems. If Ryo Ozawa can rediscover his perimeter shooting, anything can happen.

    17. New Zealand

New Zealand booked their FIBA 3x3 World Cup ticket through the FIBA 3x3 World Cup Qualifier in Singapore and arrive with underdog energy. FIBA 3x3 Asia CUp 2026 MVP Te Tuhi Lewis, though, could turn some heads in Warsaw.

    18. Australia

Australia remain dangerous because of their athletic profile and explosive scoring ability. If they gain momentum early and avoid entering the foul penalty too early, they could quickly outperform this ranking.

    19. Czechia

Czechia fought through the FIBA 3x3 World Cup Qualifier in Singapore to reach Warsaw. Now, though, Filip Novotny's crew face one of the toughest pools in the tournament (Pool C).

    20. Madagascar

Madagascar continue to represent the growing global reach of 3x3 basketball. It would be a sin to overlook them, especially if shifty Elly Randriamampionona can score in bunches. Their energy and fearless style could make them a difficult opening opponent for more established teams.

The men’s tournament tips off on June 1, with pool play running through June 4 before the knockout rounds begin.

And if history tells us anything, these rankings probably won’t survive the chaos of Warsaw for very long.
