MISKOLC (Hungary) - There will be plenty of young guns out to showcase their talent when the action gets underway at the FIBA U20 Women's EuroBasket 2025, Division B in Miskolc.
The tournament is set to serve up some great games and performances and you can use the fan poll below to cast your vote and tell us which player you think will have the biggest impact in the competition.
Firstly, here are the leading candidates to watch out for.
Eszter Ratkai - Hungary
GUARD
Birth Date: December 14, 2006 (19 years old) Height: 5ft 10in / 1.78 cm
Coming straight off an impressive tournament performance for Hungary at the FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup when helping Hungary make the Quarter-Finals, Ratkai will orchestrate everything from the backcourt. She will post some nice all-around numbers and lead her team if she continues to operate in a high gear. She can draw experience from receiving 16 minutes per game with NKA Universitas Pecs in EuroCup Women last season.
Petra Bozan - Croatia
FORWARD
Birth Date: February 10, 2006 (19 years old) Height: 6ft 4in / 1.92 cm
A superb prospect for Croatia, Bozan has ripped it up at past FIBA events - once helping Croatia to bronze at U16 level and securing an All-Star Five place after a fine tournament double-double. She has since recorded more huge performances and was attracting the attention of the Continents' leading club teams before opting to play for Nebaraska in the NCAA. Expect her to be a serious frontrunner in the race to be crowned MVP in Miskolc.
Anna Molnarova - Slovakia
GUARD
Birth Date: January 9, 2005 (20 years old) Height: 5ft 11in / 1.81 cm
With more than 12 points and 8 rebounds per game at the last edition, Molnarova was a rock for her team and will be so again - if not more. Having played with Uni Gyor for a season, she switched to the college game last year to represent James Madison University. Strong and with a good IQ, she might not exactly be a walking bucket, but she will still be a primary option for her team. She will also bring leadership and set the tone on the glass too.
Ivana Boneva - Bulgaria
GUARD
Birth Date: August 28, 2005 (19 years old) Height: 5ft 9in / 1.75 cm
Taking to the court at her third edition of this competition, Boneva is primed to post her best tournament yet in a Bulgarian vest. Especially since last year she harvested more than 15 points per game and also passed the dime more than 3 times per outing. Racking up almost 30 minutes per game in the Bulgarian pro-league for Rilski Sportist, she has put up really big numbers. If she finds her rhythm from downtown, she will also do so in Miskolc.
Grace Prenter - Ireland
GUARD
Birth Date: December 5, 2006 (18 years old) Height: 5ft 7in / 1.70 cm
Prenter has appeared at the last two editions. She played a pivotal role in that eye-catching result and now offers additional experience from the senior level after appearing in the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2025 Qualifiers. Likely to be the primary scorer, she will have to handle a lot of defensive pressure to repeat her 14 point return from 2024. She has also signed to the NCAA to play with the University of Texas and this showcases the level of her talent.
Panagiota Stoligka - Greece
GUARD
Birth Date: March 3, 2006 (19 years old) Height: 5ft 9in / 1.74 cm
The Greek star can bring the noise for her country and has been one of their most eye-catching and consistent ballers in the last three summers. Two years ago she was in the All-Star Five at U18 level and also impressed at the Basketball Without Borders Europe Camp. Since then. the guard has since gained experience from EuroCup Women with AEO Proteas Voulas, scoring 7.5 points per game last season and so she will be the go-to for Greece.
Ilinca Belegante - Romania
SMALL FORWARD
Birth Date: August 3, 2006 (18 years old) Height: 5ft 11in / 1.80 cm
A sensation at U17 level when she poured in more than 17 points per game, Belegante was hyped up and since then has not fired double-digits in her past three FIBA youth outings. However, she has began to rise up again and has the talent to be a big factor for Romania. Not least because she has played regularly with Romanian champions ACS Sepsi-SIC and briefly appeared in EuroCup Women. She will be a real threat for any defender on the wing.
Olivia Forster - Great Britain
GUARD
Birth Date: April 30, 2005 (20 years old) Height: 5ft 5in / 1.65 cm
Great Britain are likely to look to Forster to pull the strings and offer a scoring punch in Miskolc. At last year's event she dropped almost 11 points per game and led her side in assists with 4.0 dimes per outing. However, the flipside was that she couldn't find any consistency with her perimeter game. The guard will be looking to change this and comes into the 2025 edition having continued her basketball education with South Carolina Upstate in the NCAA.
Jovana Jevtovic - Serbia
CENTER
Birth Date: September 4, 2005 (19 years old) Height: 6ft 9in / 1.92 cm
Arguably the main upcoming prospect in the paint for the Serbian senior team in the medium term, Jevotic has the size and poise to be a real handful under the basket in this tournament. She played with the Sopron Basket Academy in the Hungarian League last season, putting up some eye-catching numbers. In past FIBA youth competitions, she has not been as prolific, but this could soon change and expect her to shine and lead her team.
Elina Syniakova - Ukraine
FORWARD
Birth Date: April 17, 2006 (19 years old) Height: 6ft 2in / 1.88 cm
While the frontcourt ace struggled for productivity last summer, she accumulated a near tournament double-double at U18 level. Ukraine will be looking to her to lead them in the same fashion. Strong and with good handles for her size, Syniakova has played plenty of FIBA 3x3 basketball which has helped with the evolution of her game. Meanwhile she has also benefited from playing College hoops with LA Tech, just completing her freshman year.
