MERSIN (Türkiye) - Fenerbahce Tarfin landed SuperCup Women silverware for a third time, although they had to survive a late comeback bid from fellow Turkish side CIMSA CBK Mersin.

The reigning EuroLeague Women champions moved past the hosts 79-71 as recently appointed head coach Ahmet Caki celebrated the first trophy of his tenure, but it needed big shows from Emma Meesseman and Olcay Cakir Turgut to get over the line.

Emma Meesseman flirted with a triple-double for Fenerbahce Tarfin

Meesseman was crowned MVP after producing a trademark five star show to take her team to glory. The Belgian star finished the contest with a typically classy haul of 14 points from 5 of 7 shooting, as well as 8 rebounds and 7 assists.

Meanwhile, Turkish guard Cakir Turgut top scored for Fenerbahce after converting 6 of 7 from the field to harvest 16 points.

Fenerbahce made their move in the second half as they imposed themselves at both ends of the floor to build up an extensive 21 point lead.

Mersin then rallied in the closing minutes to narrow the deficit to just six points, but their opponents clung on for the win.
