The spitfire tandem connived for a 7-0 run to open the said period and take the 64-63 lead and their rally gave the rest of the squad enough confidence that they can take care of business against the Mongolian champs.

Sohee would go on to strike the dagger, knocking down a long jumper to stretch their lead to 79-72 entering the final minute as the Amazons could only bow in disbelief after losing a lead as big as 14 points.

"It was an honor to be able to participate in this tournament," said head coach Park Jungeun. "And also for the players, it was definitely a good experience. Going back home, we have a lot of homework to do."

"And we want to bring this experience to the WKBL as well," she added.

Kim Jeongeun chipped in 11 points as she was also crucial in the triumph, with her lone triple of the match at the 8:08-mark of the fourth giving themselves the lead for good, 68-67, before the others put the game away.

The triumph couldn't get any sweeter for the Korean side, who still managed to secure a podium finish despite losing back-to-back games - that, after opening their campaign with an escape against Al Ula Club.

Now they had just capped off their maiden WBL Asia campaign with a medal, in the process becoming the first WKBL team to accomplish as much in the premier women's club competition in the continent.
