    China winners anew

    DONGGUAN (China) - Dongguan New Century Club emerged as the new FIBA Women's Basketball League Asia champions by beating the Fujitsu Red Wave, 95-67, in the 2025 Final, Sunday at the Dongguan Sports Center.

    Yang Shuyu led the way with 23 points. Huang Sijing finished with 20 points, spiked by 6 3-pointers, alongside 6 rebounds and 4 assists as she helped out in the second-quarter pullaway to commence the lopsided affair.

    Huang joined hands with Yi Shen by combining for 5 shots from deep to power a 23-11 outscoring of the Red Wave toward a 41-27 lead entering the break before opening the floodgates come the third quarter.

    Yang Liwei had 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists. Chen Mingling delivered 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists, with Yi adding 12 also as they became the second team after Sichuan Yuanda Meile to win the tournament.

    Yuki Miyazawa, on the other hand, led Fujitsu with 18 points. Aki Fujimoto had 13 points while Saki Hayashi added 10 as the Japanese club settled for silver with the loss, which is still an improvement from their bronze in 2024.

    Securing a bronze-medal finish, meanwhile, were Busan BNK Sum following a come-from-behind 79-74 victory over the Ulaanbaatar Amazons in the Third-Place Game, in which they overhauled a deficit as big as 14 points.

    Lee Sohee led the way with 30 points behind a 6-of-12 clip from beyond the arc, with Sonia Kim supplying 17 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists as the tandem spearheaded the fourth-quarter rally.
