MIAMI (United States) – USA Basketball has announced a training camp roster with 21 players who will begin preparations on June 17 at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. These players will be vying for a spot on the final 12-player team that will compete at this year's FIBA Women’s AmeriCup, scheduled to take place from June 28-July 6 in Santiago, Chile. The training camp roster includes: Raegan Beers, Mikayla Blakes, Madison Booker, Mara Braun, Addyson Brown, Jaloni Cambridge, Audi Crooks, Margaret Doogan, Joyce Edwards, Stailee Heard, Hannah Hidalgo, Flau’jae Johnson, Gianna Kneepkens, Darianna Littlepage-Buggs, Olivia Miles, Khamil Pierre, Reigan Richardson, Kennedy Smith, Hannah Stuelke, Grace VanSlooten and Payton Verhulst.
All players are active in NCAA Division I programs, and several have previously represented the USA in international youth competitions. Nine athletes have won gold medals at FIBA youth events: Edwards and Smith: 2024 U18 National Team Booker, Edwards, Hidalgo and VanSlooten: 2023 U19 National Team VanSlooten: 2022 U18 National Team Booker, Cambridge and Hidalgo: 2022 U17 National Team Verhulst: 2021 U19 National Team Booker and Cambridge: 2021 U16 National Team Verhulst and Miles: 2019 U16 National Team Braun: 2023 3x3 Nations League Final In addition, Blakes represented the USA at the Nike Hoop Summit, while Beers, Brown, Crooks, and Johnson have participated in past national team trials. The players receiving their first USA Basketball training camp invitation are: Doogan, Heard, Kneepkens, Littlepage-Buggs, Pierre, Richardson, and Stuelke. Kara Lawson will serve as head coach for this year's tournament.
The nation has been placed in Group B and will face host nation Chile, along with Colombia, Puerto Rico, and Mexico. At the most recent edition of the Women’s AmeriCup in 2023, the U.S. finished as runner-up, following back-to-back championship titles in 2019 and 2021. The winner of the FIBA Women’s AmeriCup 2025 will qualify for the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2026.
