Quarter-Finals field is set ahead of Wednesday’s action

    Short Read

With El Salvador and Chile being eliminated in Groups A and B, respectively, the slate of eight teams advancing to the Quarter-Finals is set, and all that’s left to be determined is seeding and matchups.

SANTIAGO (Chile) – After El Salvador and Chile were officially eliminated following Tuesday’s losses, the 2025 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup Quarter-Final teams are set ahead of Wednesday’s tip-off. El Salvador lost by 19 points to Argentina in Group A, while host country Chile suffered a 59-33 defeat at the hands of Colombia to seal its fate. They will play Brazil and Puerto Rico on Wednesday, respectively, to finish out their schedules. That combination of results also locked in the seedings in Group B. United States (3-0) will finish in first place, followed by Puerto Rico (2-1), Colombia (2-2), and Mexico (1-2).

In Group A, Brazil (3-0) has already secured first place. The South Americans are riding an 11-game winning streak that they’ll look to extend on Wednesday against El Salvador. That leaves the game between Canada and the Dominican Republic to determine the positions of seeds 2-4.
