Historic FIBA Women’s AmeriCup 2025 raises the bar on and off the court

    Athletes delivered on the court while fans fueled major digital growth, marking a new chapter for women’s basketball in the Americas.

    MIAMI (United States) – The FIBA Women’s AmeriCup 2025, held in Santiago, Chile from June 28 to July 6, will go down as one of the most memorable editions in recent history.

    The United States claimed its fifth title in tournament history with an undefeated run, defeating Brazil in the Final to avenge its 2023 loss. Young star Mikayla Blakes was named Most Valuable Player, confirming her promising future on the international stage.

    On the court, the tournament delivered historic numbers (since 2003):

    Argentina’s Melisa Gretter became the all-time assists leader (141) in the modern era of the competition.

    Canada’s Kayla Alexander recorded the most total rebounds (254).

    Colombia’s Yuliany Paz set a new record for blocks (34).

    Puerto Rico’s Pamela Rosado became the player with the most games played (44).

    USA’s Olivia Miles handed out a tournament-record 50 assists in a single edition.

    But the tournament’s impact extended far beyond the court. The digital performance and website traffic also reached new heights.

    Video views soared to 24 million, a 63 percent increase compared to the 2023 edition (9 million more). Engagement jumped 97 percent, from 1.673 million to 3.3 million, while impressions rose slightly from 107 million to 108 million.

    The total reach reached 93 million, up 27 million from the previous edition.

    As for web performance, the tournament’s official website recorded 1.9 million pageviews, a 130 percent increase over 2023. It also logged 418,000 visits (+64%) and 195,000 total users (+53%).

    The FIBA Women’s AmeriCup 2025 not only solidified its status as a premier sporting event but also showcased its growing influence across the digital ecosystem.
