Only two players were named Most Valuable Player (MVP) twice among those who went above and beyond at the Women's AfroBasket.
Angola's Nacissela Mauricio won the most valuable player award two years in a row in 2011 and 2013 while Senegal's Aya Traore won the same award in 2009 and 2015.
Twenty years ago, Nigeria's Mfon Udoka was amazing. She led her country to win the 2005 African Championship, which was played in Nigeria. In the next few years, three other Nigerians won the most important individual award.
