    USA, Canada secure spots in FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2027

    Both teams booked their places in next year’s World Cup after finishing atop their groups at the FIBA U18 Women’s AmeriCup 2026 and advancing directly to the Semi-Finals.

    IRAPUATO (Mexico) – USA and Canada became the first teams to qualify for the FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2027 after advancing to the Semi-Finals of the FIBA U18 Women’s AmeriCup 2026. With Friday’s victories over Paraguay and Venezuela, respectively, both teams completed the Group Phase undefeated (3-0), finished atop their groups and earned direct Semi-Final berths. Under the new competition format introduced for this edition of the FIBA U18 Women’s AmeriCup, the two group winners automatically qualify for the FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2027.     Quarter-Final matchups set

    With the conclusion of the Group Phase, Saturday’s Quarter-Final matchups have been confirmed: Argentina (2B) vs. Dominican Republic (3A) Venezuela (2A) vs. Mexico (3B) The winners will advance to the Semi-Finals to face the group leaders and will claim the final two available berths to the FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup.
