    Croatia to host this summer's FIBA U18 EuroBasket, Division B

    Everything you need to know about this summer's Division B tournament in Croatia.

    RIJEKA & OPATIJA (Croatia) - The emerging nations in Division B will compete for a spot in next summer's FIBA U18 EuroBasket.

    The tournament will take place in Rijeka & Opatija from July 24 to August 2.

    Who is participating?

    A total of 22 teams will compete for the Division B title. They have been split into four groups, with two groups of six and two groups of five.

    The Group Phase is as follows:

    Group A: Croatia, Switzerland, Montenegro, Norway, Romania Group B: Poland, Iceland, Czechia, Ukraine, Portugal, Azerbaijan Group C: Belgium, Great Britain, Finland, Ireland, Netherlands, Cyprus Group D: Sweden, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Georgia, Hungary

    What is the schedule?

    The Group Phase will take place over the first six days of the tournament, with rest days on July 27 and July 30. Classification games and the Quarter-Finals will begin on August 1.

    The competition will continue in a bracket format, through to the Final on August 2, and the Classification games will also determine each of the 22 positions - with the top three earning promotion.

    Who were the winners in 2025?

    After finishing as runners-up in 2011 and 2022, Denmark finally lifted the FIBA U18 EuroBasket 2025, Division B trophy after defeating Estonia 83-77 in Pitesti.

    Noah Norgaard answered with a three-pointer and four straight free throws in the final 90 seconds to secure the title, as he finished with 30 points while Joost Dalgaard-Duus tallied 16 points and Viggo Rimdal had 10 points. Their performances ensured a swift promotion back to Division A after being relegated the year before.

    Earlier, Slovakia had earned its promotion spot by rolling past Romania 85-52 in the Third Place Game, just its second summer in Division A after hosting the event in 2017.

    Former MVPs

    Noah Norgaard of Denmark was crowned the FIBA U18 EuroBasket, Division B's Most Valuable Player after guiding his nation to the title and promotion to Division A. He poured in 30 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals in the Final win over Estonia. For the tournament, the guard averaged 18.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.0 steals.

    Roll of honor

    Sweden boasts the most titles in Division B, with three and one silver medal. Montenegro will aim to equal that mark this summer with victory in Croatia this summer.
