    MVP Ladder: The race is heating up as new faces arrive

    Who's going to be crowned TISSOT MVP? There are five new faces on our ladder.

    BRNO (Czechia) - Plenty of outstanding players have all been showing their skills and potential at the FIBA U17 Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 and this also means there is an exciting scramble to be crowned TISSOT MVP.

    So, heading into the last days of the competition, which players have the best chances of winning the Most Valuable Player award at the closing ceremony on Sunday July 19?

    Who will be the FIBA U17 Women's World Cup 2026 TISSOT MVP?

    Who will follow in the footsteps of USA standout Jerzy Robinson, who carried her nation to the title in 2024?

    In the second of our MVP ladders, we're still focusing on the nations who have the chance to land on the podium. with 10 of the leading candidates to take the prestigious individual honor.

    10. Anais Gobec - Slovenia (new)

    Despite being one of the youngest players to have made the Quarter-Finals, the playmaker has shown her amazing promise and maturity for Slovenia. In fact, she leads the tournament in performance efficiency at a super 20.0.

    That has come from leading her team in scoring and steals with 15.5 points and 2.8 steals per game, respectively. In an all-action effort, the Slovenian ace has also added an average of 5.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists and shot 53.8 percent.

    9. Frances Vollett - Canada (new)

    Canada have had leaders who have blown both hot and cold, but Vollett has been the most consistent baller in terms of her contributions. Every team chasing the podium needs a rock like this and she leads them in efficiency.

    Averaging 11.8 points and 7.5 rebounds per contest, her consistency is highlighted with 13 points in each of the last three outings. She came up big in the Round of 16 when Canada were laboring a bit, by converting 6 of 9 from the floor.

    8. Yuanshan Li - China (new)

    The guard came into the competition billed as one of the player's to watch and a scoring machine. She's lived up to the hype and is currently leading the tournament with a superb 20.5 points per game.

    And if she does end up landing MVP honors then it will be that scoring punch for China which takes her there. She's also contributed in other areas with 3.8 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 2.0 steals per outing.

    7. Amelia Alonso - Spain (new)

    While Spain's guards inevitably steal the limelight because of their ball pressure, there's no denying she has flown the flag for the frontcourt with her efforts - despite a false start on opening day when she only shot 1 from 8.

    Since then, she's recovered and is getting more and more influential for her team. Leading in efficiency, Alonso has logged an average 12.3 points and 5.8 boards, also dishing out 2.5 assists per game to show another other side of her game.

    6. Olivia Olechnowicz - Australia (new)

    A driving force at both ends of the floor for the Sapphires, Olechnowicz has been a beast defensively in particular. Perfectly showcased by being way out in front as the competition steals leader with a stunning 4.5 per game.

    But she has also been highly effective offensively too, with nice shot selection and decision-making contributing to 12.3 points and 3.0 assist per outing. Aggressive and smart, she's a baller epitomizing how Australia have played.

    5. Madison Ryan - Australia (-1)

    A drop of one place in the ladder isn't a reflection on Ryan, it's a consequence of another baller rising up. She has been the leader we all know, with a string of classy displays contributing to topping Australia's efficiency chart.

    She also leads in scoring with 12.8 points, has accrued 5.0 rebounds per game and is second in steals and blocks for her team as well. Heading into the crunch last few days, her team's prospects largely hinge on her quality and maturity.

    4. Isabel Hernandez - Spain (-1)

    Hernandez has shown why she was crowned MVP of the FIBA U16 Women's EuroBasket with plenty of flashes of her brilliance and it is expected to shift up the gears in these decisive next three games for her country.

    Showing her renowned ability to score and create with her guard play, she predictably leads Spain in scoring with 13.3 points per outing and is also the competition's joint-leader for assists with an average of 5.3 per game.

    3. Eve Long - USA (-1)

    The forward has been very consistent and even if she has not lit it up in a huge way as some might have predicted, it feels she's heating up and ready to record a big show. Getting the second most minutes per game tells a story.

    Averaging 12.5 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, she's shot the ball relatively well and used her physical prowess on defense. The competition on USA's roster is fierce, so her teammates could be on the ladder, but Long holds on.

    2. Miya Takeuchi - Japan (+8)

    It's a meteoric rise for Takeuchi. This is not only due to hr impressive displays as Japan's standout baller and the numbers she's posted, but also how she stuffs the highlights reel and entertains like few others can with her play.

    The smile and personality is ever-present and there is an aura that suggest senior stardom if she keeps working hard and improving. She leads Japan in efficency, scoring and assists - netting 16.0 points and 4.8 dimes per game.

    1. Ivanna Wilson Manyacka - USA (-)

    She came in as TISSOT MVP frontrunner and has duly delivered as the standout player not only for USA, but also in the tournament. She has done it all with some outstanding displays and is the go-to baller for the reigning champs.

    USA's leader in efficiency and also the second highest in the competition at 18.5, Wilson Manyacka has registered a super haul at both ends of the court. Namely, 13.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.0 assists per game.
