    BRNO (Czechia) - The Round of 16 is in the books at the FIBA U17 Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 and it witnessed plenty of players finding top gear with some excellent displays for their respective teams.

    Yunshu Pang had a day to remember with her best ever contribution in national team vest as China swept past Latvia 83-60 thanks mainly to her towering double-double of 15 points and as many rebounds. She also added 3 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks.

    USA posted a record-breaking effort to blast their way past Mexico 112-36 as they set an all-time assists record. Nation Williams starred with 10 points, 15 rebounds, 4 blocks and 3 assists.

    USA shatter FIBA U17 Women's World Cup assists record

    Meanwhile her USA teammate Micah Ojo also caught fire and racked up 13 points, 10 boards, 5 dimes and 3 blocks.

    Kako Otsuki had a brilliant performance for Japan in their 80-53 success against Egypt. Jumping out with a lightning quick start, she eventually finished with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists.

    There was also a dazzling display from Miya Takeuchi who shot the lights out, making 6 of 7 en-route to 18 points while also adding 3 assists.
